Promote safe and easy battery recycling in your office, school or hospital with the AERC Battery Recycler Program.  AERC suggests placing the battery recycler in multiple places to promote use.  Once the battery recycler is full, empty contents into an AERC RecycleKits pail (either 1 gallon or 5 gallon). Once the RecycleKits pail is full simply call FedEx to pick up the 1 gallon or 5 gallon RecycleKits pail.

Alkaline (non-mercury)
Nickel Cadmium (dry)
Carbon Zinc (non-mercury)
Nickel Iron
Nickel Metal Hydride
Zinc Air

These batteries do not contain mercury. However, they do contain other types of toxic metals which may cause the batteries to fail TCLP (Toxicity Characteristic Leaching Procedure) testing for heavy metals.
